Yesterday @JTuff, aka incredible concept artist and streamer Jourdan Tuffan, did an environmental study warmup on the stream and posted his reference images for others to work from as well. Here’s my thumbnail-sized (heavy oil paint on paper) interpretation of an Arctic ice surface with feathering cracks and dark water underneath.
I’m feeling a lot more free to make robust, bold brushstrokes with my physical painting now that I have the confidence that comes from being able to photograph and edit my art digitally! I don’t have to worry about making a mistake or ruining a piece by adding something big to it, as long as I’ve photographed it in all its stages. The insurance policy lets me relax.
